Honey diet and its nutritional qualities


           Malnutrition in India is a serious problem we Indians focused more on taking starch food heavily.Nutritional quality can be increased by a balanced nutrition.United nations General assembly in New York  adopted a resolution on follow-up on International conference on Nutrition(ICN2) from 5th July 2015 to 9th July 2015.

         World bank estimates that India is one of the highest ranking countries in the world for the number of children suffering from malnutrition. Though most of the population is still living below the national poverty line. Undernutrition is more prevalent in rural areas. According to a recent survey, 70% of Indian population are in rural areas.For example, in 2005 40% of women in rural areas,36% of women in urban areas were found to have mid-Anaemia.In urban areas, Overweight status and obesity are over three times as high as rural areas.

  • Honey is an aromatic, viscid sweet product modified by the honey bees from the nectar of plants.
  • It contains about 20% moisture, 60 to 75% invert sugars, dextrose and levulose, 5% sucrose.
